Hi, my name is Randy L Lape, founder of Mortgage Free Living, advocate of the Truth in Equity system. I am also a mortgage banker in recovery. In early 2000, I decided to use the financial/marketing education received from North Eastern University in Boston and become a licensed mortgage broker. Always being an entrepreneur, I quickly founded SouthTrust Funding backed by investors such as Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers, Indymac and a few other financial giants that fell in the 2008 real estate crash. YES,SUCH a great learning experience! After that crushing blow and bankruptcy, I swore to myself to find a different way, a better way. So, I have spent the last decade of my life educating myself; joining programs, hiring a mentor, online teachings, seminars and every arsenal I need in my toolbox. All this to help others avoid the headache and heartaches I personally experienced.
So here is the obligatory list of qualifications: Northeastern University; University of Tampa; Hillsborough State; Everest University; Carteret College; multiple starts-ups of currently operating businesses; various licenses in real-estate and insurance; trainings from every financial guru out there; take the good, leave the bad, but always remember this: there is no magic pill.
What my family and friends say – VERY charismatic. I am easy to talk to because I listen, but I also hear. I am jovial and positive. “You don’t know what you don’t know” is a family attitude. I am a dad with 4 kids, 2 older girls and 2 younger boys. I like to golf but the people behind are not impressed. I do not over complicate things.
Why I have automatic cool points – I was born on Star Wars Day (May the 4th be with you!) I am currently level 48, and I have been debt free for 3 years.
